LOG CABIN FESTIVAL 2024
Special Foods on Saturday

In earlier times, the foods we consumed were not filled with unnatural food dyes or preservatives. The plates, bowls, glasses, cups and utensils we used were not plastic or styrfoam. Since you will be walking back in time when you come to Log Cabin Days, we are doing our best to keep our foods and refreshments as "clean" as possible. Foods will be homemade as they were in the early 1900s Dyes will be natural and our serving plates and bowls will be compostable even though they are disposable. Above all, You can count on everything being naturally delicious.

The annual chicken and noodle dinner with real mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade roll, drink and dessert will be served inside the museum as a "sit down" dinner.
Out on the grounds you will find the same homemade chicken and noodles in a bowl ladled on top of fluffy mashed potatoes, topped with a scoop of buttered corn.
Good, old fashioned hot dogs will be cooking on the grell and include all the fixings that make hot dogs great, including chips.

You can't have a fall festival without caramel apples. A nice bowl of apple slices with warm caramel drizzled over the slices. Perhaps a few walnuts on top?
Warm roasted peanuts in the shell will be available outside the Carver building. Enjoy them while you look over the tree carved in George Washington Carver's honor.
For dessert we have warm homemade cherry or peach crisp with ice cream. The ice cream is from Carlisle's famous Fizz Restaurant.
For special treats throughout the day try our Funnel Cakes made from scratch with our 40-year old secret recipe. They are wonderful with powdered sugar, or topped wioth fresh strawberris and whipped cream.
You will findold time candy, pickles, and crackers in barrels in the newly restored General Store, along with cream soda kept cold in the old ice cooler.
Beef burgers and hot dogs with coleslaw instead of chicken and noodles will be serve for lunch on Sunday. Most other foods will be available as well.

So, come hungry to all the festivities!
