George Washington Carver Museum

The George Washington Carver Museum was built to house the structure where this world-renowned scientist and educator lived while attending Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa (1890-1891). After leaving Simpson, Carver attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he graduated.

Returning to Indianola throughout his educational years, the Indianola community and Simpson College remained deeply attached to George W. Carver throughout his life. The museum houses information about his life, work, and contributions.
