George Washington Carver Museum

The George Washington Carver Museum was built to house the structure where this world-renowned scientist and educator lived while attending Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa (1890-1891). After leaving Simpson, Carver attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he graduated.

Returning to Indianola throughout these educational years, the Indianola community as well as Simpson College were profoundly influenced by this charismatic young man. The museum houses information about his life, work, and contributions. Private and group scheduled tours available upon request.
